With over 25 years in the Consumer Packaging Group (CPG) food industry, John Richards has held leadership positions with full P&L responsibility, from start-up/incubator brands to mature businesses with companies ranging in size from <$10M to $40B+.
His extensive large company experience includes senior roles with Pepsico, Kellogg’s and Mars/Wrigley. His broad category and general management-focused functional expertise includes sales, brand marketing, category management, trade management, strategic planning, finance, supply chain, acquisition strategy and people development.
Recognizing the trend of small food company expansion in the Chicago-area over the past 3-5 years, John turned his attention to consulting in 2015. He has associated with several companies to develop and scale innovative retail and food-service offerings. From strategic planning through implementation, he works with his partners to build multi-year growth plans focused on delivering both top and bottom-line results.
